My NIN Project

My name is Christa and I have been wanting to do this for a long time but I never knew how to properly thank Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails for all the music that he has written. For all the emotions that I have felt listening to his music, for the dancing, for the singing, and for the screaming I have done while listening to his music! For giving me 20+ years worth of the most amazing sounds I have ever heard.
This project blog is my THANK YOU.

First, I want you to know how long I have been a fan.
My beginnings with NIN was happenstance... I happened upon him in the Autumn of 1989, September I think. There was an Alternative Band station in Phoenix called KUKQ 1060 AM. I think it was Jonathan L. who played "Down In It" first and only once. The Q was a fabulous little radio station in Phoenix, and an AM station to boot. I remember thinking that NIN sounded like a pretty cool name for a band. I was listening to Bauhaus, Skinny Puppy, Front 242, & Ministry at the time. I was into the harder Alt-Rock but I still listened to my INXS, Depeche Mode, Violent Femmes, Jesus Jones, and The Sugarcubes!

Then a friend of mine sent me a care package from Indiana University. It was a home-made tape of two bands - Depeche Mode, Violator and Nine Inch Nails, Pretty Hate Machine. Now I knew all about DM as I had Music For The Masses and I only halfway knew about NIN from the one song that KUKQ had played. So I pop in the tape on my boombox... Got through all of Violator and thought "Yeah, I could buy that CD." Then I flipped the tape over, got through two songs - "Head Like A Hole" and "Terrible Lie" and went out to Tower Records and bought that $25 CD. No hesitation. This was around the first of November, 1989. I'll never forget that.

I hope you enjoy what I am doing or trying to do here. Ok, enough about that... Let's get on with some Nine Inch Nails!!!!
